Rising Star Competition

Preliminary Round Application (non-refundable fee of $40)
Finalists Competition: Sunday, January 12, 2020

To be chosen as a finalist in the Rising Star Concerto Competition, all applicants must submit a preliminary round application, entry fee, and recording of concerto selection (recording can be by CD, DVD, youtube link, or mp3 file: see guidelines for more details) by December 1, 2019.

Finalists will be selected on the basis of the taped audition and will be notified of their status by December 15, 2019. Finalists will be invited to compete in live auditions at the Shuck Recital Hall at the River Campus, Southeast Missouri State University, on January 12, 2020.

Eligibility: Precollege students with a minimum age of 12 and maximum age of 19.
Not Eligible: Any students who are currently enrolled full-time in a college or university.

Repertoire: One movement, not to exceed 15 minutes, of any standard concerto for stringed instrument and orchestra. Competition performance must be from memory and with pianist.
