Purpose of Organization: |
NSSLHA is the National Student Speech, Language, & Hearing Association. Founded in 1972, it operates as an independent organization and is recognized by the discipline''s professional association, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), as the official organization for students interested in human communication sciences and disorders. Involvement in NSSLHA leads to a fuller appreciation of the profession of speech-language pathology and audiology and a greater awareness of the issues affecting the field. |
Election Information: |
President, Activities Chair, and Fundraising Chair elections will be held in April. All other officer elections will be held in September. |
Meeting Information: |
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at noon in Rose Theatre in Grauel Building. |
Membership: |
NSSLHA membership is available to full or part time undergraduate and graduate students. Students joining the local chapter of NSSLHA are not members of national NSSLHA and are not eligible to receive benefits of national membership; however, local membership is available to anyone who has declared a major in communication disorders.
