The Clothesline Project

Event Description:
You don't want to miss this colorful and meaningful display! The Clothesline Project originated in Hyannis, Massachusetts in 1990 when members of Cape Cod's Women's Defense Agenda learned that during the same time 58,000 soldiers were killed in the Vietnam War, 51,000 U.S. women were killed by the men who claimed to love them. Campus Violence Prevention invites all students, staff and faculty to participate in our Clothesline Project to kick-off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Survivors are invited to create tshirts and supporters are offered clothespins to decorate as a symbol of their support. Contact Donna St. Sauver at dstsauver@semo.edu if you would like to arrange supplies for your organization!
