FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SOUTHEAST'S TOP BUSINESS STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO BETA GAMMA SIGMA INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., May 30, 2003 - Twenty-one students were inducted into the Southeast Missouri State University chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society for business students in a ceremony May 9 in Glenn Auditorium. While almost 300,000 students nationally receive bachelor's or master's degree in business each year, only 18,000 are inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. Students ranking in the top 7 percent of the junior class, top 10 percent of the senior class and top 20 percent of master's programs at schools accredited by AACSB-International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International) are eligible for this induction to society membership. Beta Gamma Sigma membership has become an international honor. With the expansion of AACSB-International accreditation internationally, membership is no longer limited to those who have studied in the United States or Canada. These outstanding students now hold the highest recognition business students anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by AACSB-International. Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization in 1913. Its mission is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business; and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business. The principles and values of Beta Gamma Sigma include: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom and earnestness. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
