FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE AND DANCE TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR FALL PRODUCTION

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 17, 2003--The Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will be holding auditions at 2 p.m. April 27 for its fall production of the drama "Two Rooms."

Auditions will be held in the Lab Theatre, Room 103 of the Grauel Building on the corner of Pacific and Normal streets.

"Two Rooms" is the story of an American professor held hostage in Beirut, Lebanon, and the efforts of his wife to gain his freedom. The scenes switch between the professor's cell in Beirut and his study in the United States, where his wife is keeping vigil. Written by Lee Blessing in 1988, its theme and the questions it raises are relevant for today.

Roles for two men and two women will be cast. University Theatre & Dance productions are open to all students as well as to the general public. Interested persons are asked to prepare a short (less than two minutes) dramatic monologue. Auditions also will include cold readings from the script. For more information, contact Dr. Sharon Bebout-Carr at (573) 651-2494.
