FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER AWARDED WITH EXPORT ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATE
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 17, 2003- The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Southeast Missouri State University was recognized for outstanding service to small businesses in promoting export activity when it was awarded with the Export Achievement Certificate at the First Friday Coffee of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce on April 4. The award is typically given to a business, but because of the SBDC's lengthy history of successfully promoting small business exporting activity, the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service, recognized the SBDC's hard work. "We are very appreciative to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Export Assistance Center, and the Missouri District Export Council for recognizing us," said Buz Sutherland, Director of the SBDC. "The University is a great resource to companies doing business internationally." The SBDC has provided assistance for small businesses in service, retail, construction and manufacturing in the Cape Girardeau area for the past 17 years. Motorcycle Stuff, a Cape Girardeau company, was also honored. | |
