SOUTHEAST GUITAR ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM APRIL 21

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 4, 2003 -- The Southeast Missouri State University Guitar Ensemble will present a concert at 8 p.m. April 21 in the Lutheran Chapel on the Southeast campus.

The Chapel is located at 903 College Hill.

The concert will consist of trios, duos, solos, and large ensemble pieces. Solos include Fernando Sor's "Variations on a Theme" by Mozart and "Preludes" by Hietor Villa-Lobos. A guitar duo will offer the audience a "Spanish Dance" by Granados and an entertaining suite by Leo Brouwer. The Southeast Guitar Trio recently performed in Chicago at the Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival and will reprise their performance of Paulo Bellinati's exciting Brazilian trio.

All performers will be music performance majors specializing in classical guitar. The ensembles are directed and coached by Jeff Noonan, director of guitar studies at Southeast.
