GREEK WEEK AT SOUTHEAST STARTS APRIL 5

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 28, 2003 - The Greek community at Southeast Missouri State University will kick off Greek Week 2003 April 5 with a community-wide service day.

Greek Week emphasizes chapter pride, Greek unity and philanthropy. Many local charities and organizations will be the beneficiaries of this year's philanthropic activities.

Several events are planned for Saturday's community service day including, a car wash at Rhodes 101 stations on Sprigg and William from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a food drive collection at Food Giant from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members of the Greek community also will participate in the city's annual Friends of the Park cleanup at several local parks and will volunteer at a dance at Fountainbleau Nursing Home from 1 to 3 p.m. and bingo from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Food and money raised via these events will benefit the United Way, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cape Girardeau Fire Department and Special Olympics.
