"Because the men and women of the United States Armed Services and other coalition countries are now fighting in Iraq, we are postponing the on-air portion of our Spring Membership Campaign," said Mary Kay Poljan, KRCU development director.

KRCU cancelled its upcoming membership campaign at the urging of National Public Radio, which encouraged all of its member stations to do the same. KRCU will continue to provide ongoing war coverage and will maintain maximum flexibility in its programming schedule, monitoring world events and interrupting regular programming as new information becomes available.

KRCU's spring membership goal remains at $30,000.

"Now, more than ever, your support helps KRCU broadcast the reliable NPR coverage you value," Poljan said. "We need the help of all our listeners to be successful."

KRCU supporters are asked to return the "membership reply" form they received in the mail. Supporters also may visit KRCU.org and follow the links to make a pledge.

"Making an online contribution is simple, safe and secure," Poljan said. "We thank everyone across the region for their ongoing support of Southeast Public Radio."

KRCU 90.9 FM, Southeast Public Radio, is dedicated to providing quality programs and service to its listeners.
