FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM HOSTING SPRING FAMILY DAY APRIL 5

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 14, 2003 - Children and their favorite adults are invited to play games and make art together April 5 at a "Young Artists at Work" program planned in the Southeast Missouri State University Museum.

Using the artwork in the Annual Student Assessment Exhibition, visitors can play "I Spy" and go on a scavenger hunt in the Museum galleries as part of a special "Spring Family Day." After experiencing the art made by Southeast college students, adults and children can work together to create their own art masterpiece with painting, drawing or molding clay. The event is planned for noon to 4 p.m. Visitors may drop in any time. Programs are planned for children ages 7 and up and their favorite adults, but all ages are welcome. One adult for every two children is strongly recommended.

No registration is necessary. The program is free. Donations to cover the cost of supplies are welcome. Art-making is available while supplies last. For more information, call the Southeast Missouri State University Museum at (573) 651-2260 or visit http://www5.semo.edu/museum.
