FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE UNIVERSITY CHOIR PRESENTS SPRING CONCERTS
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 14, 2003 -The University Choir of Southeast Missouri State University will present its annual spring concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Cape Bible Chapel. Cape Bible Chapel is located on Kage Road, just west of Kingshighway at Mt. Auburn Road (and across from BART). Ample parking is available at the church. Admission is free. The concert opens with "A Portrait of Romantic and 20th Century Choral Music" and includes a wide range of musical styles from France, Norway, Germany, Canada, Italy and the United States. "The People's Music" features music that will touch everyone and that, in one way or another, represents most people. It ranges from traditional Scottish and Irish folk songs to Shaker tunes and music from South America. The concert concludes with two extraordinary new spirituals by world-renowned arranger, Moses Hogan. The University's final choral concert of the season is May 6. It will highlight "Viennese Classics" and will feature the Choral Union, University Choir and the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra. They will perform the music of Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven. That concert will be at 8 p.m. in Academic Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. | |
