SOUTHEAST STUDENT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION APPOINTS CO-PRESIDENTS

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., March 7, 2003 - The Southeast Missouri State University Student Alumni Association has appointed its 2003 co-presidents.

Ian Fagala and Marc Zieres are the new co-presidents for the Student Alumni Association. They were appointed by an Alumni Association committee and are responsible for all Student Alumni Association and Homecoming week activities.

"This is a real commitment on the part of the students," said Jane Stacy, director of alumni services and development. "These students work from March to November and meet every week during that time while school is in session."

Fagala of Fenton, Mo., is a fitness and sports medicine major and sales management minor at Southeast. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta, the National Broadcasting Society and has been a Greek Life 101 Facilitator. Fagala also has been involved in the Student Alumni Association for two years. He served as a member of the selections committee in the first year and served as co-chair of the selections committee in the second year.

Zieres of St. Louis, Mo., is working towards a bachelor of science in business administration degree majoring in finance at Southeast. He attended Vianney High School in Kirkwood, Mo.

The Student Alumni Association has been in existence for four years. Its primary responsibility is to organize and plan Homecoming. Prior to the Student Alumni Association's establishment, the Homecoming Steering Committee was responsible for preparation of homecoming for more than 40 years.
