FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION HOSTING PLANNED GIVING DESIGN CENTER
Southeast Missouri University Foundation provides online resource for professional advisors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 21, 2003 - The Southeast Missouri University Foundation is pleased to announce that it is now a regional host site for the Planned Giving Design Center (PGDC).

Southeast's PGDC - available throughout central and southern Missouri and southern Illinois - provides professional advisors with resources they can use to advise clients in matters of charitable gift and estate planning. The PGDC provides resources especially beneficial to attorneys, accountants, financial planners, life underwriters, investment advisors, real estate professionals and those who have a specific interest in the technical aspects of planned giving.

Included in this Web site are many articles and treatises on the various types of planned gifts arrangements such as charitable remainder trusts, bequests, retained life estates, charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts and wealth replacement trusts. Advisors can access and download sample forms as well as case studies and illustrations for all types of gift arrangements. In addition, the site provides a wealth of information about making gifts of various types of assets, including real estate, cash, securities, retirement plan assets, life insurance and closely held stock.

A powerful search capability allows the advisor to research the thousands of pages of text, and weekly e-mail alerts provide the latest on current changes in tax law and "hot topics" in the field of charitable gift planning. A planned giving calculator is accessible anytime and any place enabling advisors to provide a client with a personal description of the financial and tax benefits of their planned gift as well as important information for inclusion in donors' tax returns.

"Thousands of professional advisors subscribe to similar Web sites hosted by charities around the country," said Trudy Lee, Southeast director of Planned Giving. "We are thrilled to be the host charity for this area and provide this incredible resource. Advisors will find this a great tool to use in assisting clients with their estate and financial planning."

The Planned Giving Design Center can be found at www.pgdc.net/SEMO. Free registration is required to freely access all areas of the site. For questions about the PGDC or about planned giving to the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, call (573) 651-5935.
