DISCUSSION FORUM ON TERRORISM, UNITED STATES PLANNED FOR SEPT. 11

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Aug. 30, 2002 -- "Looking Back and Looking Forward: Reflections on September 11" is the topic of a discussion forum on terrorism and the United States planned for Sept. 11 at Southeast Missouri State University.

The event is planned for noon to 1:15 p.m. in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall.

The panel discussion will feature five faculty members: Dr. Rick Althaus, professor of political science, who will serve as moderator; Dr. Alynna Lyon, assistant professor of political science, who will provide reflections on U.S. foreign policy; Dr. Brian Smentkowski, assistant professor of political science, who will comment on civil liberties; Dr. Willie Redmond, assistant professor of economics, who will provide reflections on the U.S. economy; and Dr. Joel Rhodes, assistant professor of history, who will speak on U.S. intelligence.

The forum, which is open to the public, is being sponsored by the Department of Political Science and Pi Sigma Alpha.
