James Denny, a cultural resource preservationist from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, will make the presentation on the "Lewis and Clark Trail." It will take place at 4 p.m.

In his presentation, Denny will cover the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the impact of Lewis and Clark's expedition on Southeast Missouri.

Dr. Walter Schroeder, a geography professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia, will make the presentation on the "Land Division in the Ste. Genevieve District, 1790-1820." It will take place at 7 p.m.

In his presentation, Schroeder will speak about his new book, Opening the Ozarks: Settlement of the Ste. Genevieve Districts. He will give an overview of the early settlements of Ste. Genevieve during the late 1700s and early 1800s. After the presentation, a book signing will be held.

A dinner is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Bulduc Room of the Hotel Ste. Genevieve. The cost is $10 per person, and reservations can be made by calling (573) 883-7102.

The Historic Preservation Field School presentations are free and open to the public.
