HOT TUB-A-THON TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 19, 2002 - The men of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the women of Delta Delta Delta sorority at Southeast Missouri State University are hosting the ninth annual Hot Tub-a-Thon philanthropic event April 21-24 at CC's Hair Studio, 820 N. Sprigg, Suite 1, in Cape Girardeau.

Members of each chapter will spend 48 hours in a hot tub in an attempt to raise money for the American Lung Association. The event begins at 11 p.m. April 21.

"The Hot Tub-a-Thon has been one of the most successful fund-raising events held by any organization on campus," said Brian King, vice president of public relations for the Southeast Missouri State University Interfraternity Council.

Over the past two years, Lambda Chi Alpha and Delta Delta Delta raised more than $900 for The American Lung Association. This year, with the help of CC's Hair Studio, which is supplying the location for this year's event, members of each organization are getting excited about the event and hope to surpass the historic marks set by the past two years' participants.

Since the inception of the Hot Tub-a-Thon in 1993, many local businesses and individuals have contributed to this worthy cause. Lambda Chi Alpha and Delta Delta Delta representatives say the fund-raising process and the event should be among the most successful in its nine-year history.
