SE Startup Pitch Competition

Event Description:
The Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southeast Missouri State University announces the inaugural Southeast Startup Pitch Competition taking place on May 2.
The Startup Pitch Competition gives current full-time undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to exhibit their creativity and win cash prizes for an innovative new business idea.
Students can compete as individuals or teams. After the teams have researched and developed their ideas, they will submit a three-minute video pitch and a one- to two-page executive summary online by April 6.
The top five teams will be notified and will pitch their ideas live at a Common Hour program scheduled on May 2 in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall. The judges will then award first place with a $2,000 cash prize, second place with a $1,000 cash prize, and third place with a $500 cash prize (cash prizes are taxable).
Interested students must attend one of the information sessions being held at Catapult Creative House at 612 Broadway in downtown Cape Girardeau at noon on Feb. 15 or at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 21. This last session will also include time for networking with potential team members, and refreshments and appetizers will be provided.
